Recessed Chamber

This is the most common type of filter plate. The filter cloth is hung or draped over the filter plate. Filtration takes place as filtrate passes throught the cloth and drains out through the raised pips to the corner discharge holes.

• Standard web thickness (For 100 or 225 psig, maximum feed pressure)
• Available in Polypropylene for standard operations
• Durco-Temp™ high temperature thermoplastic for high temp application

Caulked and Gasketted

• Designed to prevent leaking during filtration cycle
• Plates have a caulking groove just outside the recessed portion of the plate, and cloths have a rope sewn in the edge that is inserted in the caulking groove
• A second groove is provided in the perimeter sealing surface on one side of each plate and the gasket fits in this groove to contact the adjacent plate and prevent slurry leakage across the sealing surface
• Another circular groove on one side of each plate surrounds each corner eye and a gasket fits in each corner eye groove to prevent leakage across the sealing surface

Plate and Frame

• Flush plates are alternated with hollow frames
• Plate drainage surface has grooves instead of pips to support cloth
• Used where cakes greater than 2” thick are required or when paper media is required
• Feed is in the corner

Corner Feed

• Used when solids in slurry stream have a high specific gravity
• Allows filter chambers to be filled completely when heavy slurries are dewatered

Membrane

• The filter plate has three layers: a central web or support. Thin membranes are on either side
• Filtration takes place the same as with a recessed chamber plate
• When the cycle is finished, the spaces between the web and membranes is inflated with air or water. This squeezes the cake between the plates resulting in dryer cake
• Often, membrane plates are mixed with companion non-membrane plates. Refered to as "Mixed Pack"

Cast Iron and Aluminum

• Metal plates in cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, or other materials are used for high temperature or other unique applications
